[Critter 001] - A Fluttershy and her Squittens!

[Surprise recording feed time! Fluttershy is obviously unaware that it's on and recording, because... she's not acting shy! I know! It does exist! In this particular shot, she's got several of these little squid kittens around her. They seem to all really like her, and right back, she just adores them.]

Oh my, you poor little things really were hungry! Don't you worry your cute little heads. Fluttershy will take care of you! [She hums a little tune and flies off the shot for just a moment, and comes back with a little bucket full of little fishies for the little things to eat.]

Now, don't eat too much! We wouldn't want you getting little tummy-aches!

There are so many little creatures in this place. I guess it's not such a bad thing I showed up, hm?

[ History ] : (Nabbed some from my Gargleblasted App)
ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE MAGICAL WORLD OF EQUESTRIA~

I'm just kidding. I swear I won't start this app off like that. C: What you do need to know about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (Hereon referred to as MLP:FiM), is that it's about ponies, and how with friendship, many challenges can be overcome. Yay good morals! Story wise, the ponies serve Princess Celestia, a kind and gentle ruler, who often calls on the six costars of the show for their power over the Elements of Harmony. Fluttershy represents the Element of Kindness.

Fluttershy was never the bravest pony. She wasn't a very strong flyer, an embarrassing state for a pegasus pony. She was never very graceful, startled easy, and generally, as her name suggests... was very shy. As a young pony, Fluttershy grew up mostly in Cloudsdale as this quiet little pony that did get bullied from time to time.

One such occasion caused Fluttershy to realize just who she was, and what her real calling was. One day, three ponies were picking on Fluttershy when Rainbow Dash showed up to defend her by challenging the other ponies to a race. Fluttershy was deemed the flag wielder and as soon as she waved the flag and the ponies rushed into the race, she was bumped and began plummeting to the earth below.

Oooh nooooooooooo!

Before she hit the ground, Fluttershy was saved by a swarm of butterflies. She had never seen such amazing creatures before and fell in love with them instantly. Being so close to the ground, Fluttershy began actually flying! Whereas in Cloudsdale, she would run into cloud pillars or trip over cloud rings, she seemed a little more at home in Ponyville with these animals. It was when a loud boom and a rainbow shot across the sky and all the animals ran off, terrified, that Fluttershy sprung into action. It was in this moment she realized she had a gift for speaking with animals and could comfort them on ease. This was also the day her cutie mark appeared--three butterflies.

So there we have Fluttershy's childhood.

Once she landed in Ponyville, Fluttershy really made a home for herself there, collecting critter after critter. She remained very shy and reclusive until Twilight Sparkle arrives in Ponyville. In the first, and also pilot, episodes. Fluttershy utilizes her element of kindness along with the other special ponies to defeat Nightmare Moon, and thus a beautiful friendship began.

The group goes through many different adventures throughout the show, ranging from asking a dragon to leave a cave, to becoming Equestria's hottest new supermodel, to the Grand Galloping Gala, where the ponies have a very unexpected Best Night Ever. Each episode teaches a lesson to the ponies. Sometime as a group, other times for an individual. (I'm sure there will be details in the personality section. C:)

[ Personality ] :
As I said before, Fluttershy is extremely shy. So much so that when first meeting Twilight Sparkle, she is hardly able to speak, and ends up more... mumbling then finally squeaking out her name. Barely. So meeting new people is difficult. What's really funny is not but two seconds later, when she notices Spike, the baby dragon, she perks right up, speaking loud--for her at least--and excitably to the dragon.

Animals? No problem. Other ponies? Not so much.

After meeting Twilight, Fluttershy tends to be a little less... shy around her. That goes same for the other ponies, who she begins getting very close to once they discover their Elements of Harmony.

Fluttershy is certainly not the bravest pony to ever live. She's shown to be scared of her own shadow even. More particularly, full grown dragons are shown to freeze her in place. As well, when Fluttershy is afraid, she tends to lose her flying ability. This is not to say, however, that she can't show strength! She's quick to defend her friends, in a heated situation. This is shown twice. Once when facing a full grown dragon. When the others had exhausted their options, it was Fluttershy who scolded the dragon for being so mean and demanded he go somewhere else.

The second showing of this strength of Fluttershy is when watching three little fillies. She stares down a cockatrice--who's stare is said to turn ponies into stone--to protect them. Granted this is utilizing her awe-inspiring 'Stare'. This stare is something Fluttershy has no control of, but has the ability to intimidate animals to what she wants them to do. AND THEY BUCKLE TO HER WILL.

Fluttershy represents the element of kindness. It is her kind heart that stops everypony from attacking the Manticore, who only had a tack stuck in it's poor foot. When asked how Fluttershy knew about the thorn, she responds with "Sometimes, we all just need to be shown a little kindness."

This shows Fluttershy's kindness. She is always kind to animals and others, remains extremely polite when speaking in conversation, and is always mindful of others. If it were up to her, she would much rather not be in the way or a burden, then let someone be inconvenienced by her. Sometimes, she's even a little too kind, allowing those with more brash personalities to walk all over her. One other such example would be when Fluttershy becomes a top model of Equestria. Even though she hates it because of all of the attention, she sticks with it because Rarity simply told her that "she must! She must! SHE MUST" So very kind!

One other thing to mention is Fluttershy's extreme quietness. Extreme. Quietness. Even though she's enthusiastic, she's just plain quiet! Yet another time this quietness shows is when she becomes so frustrating with modeling, that she claims she's so frustrated she could just scream! What follows... is a long winded... quiet... squeak.

Yet, when Rainbow Dash actually accomplishes her Sonic Rainboom in the Cloudsdale Coliseum, she is the loudest, cheering happily for her friend.

Finally, I thought I should detail her relationships with the other ponies.

Twilight Sparkle tends to be one of her good friends. She both trusts and appreciates Twilight's faith in her. Aaaand also puts up with a lot of her quietness. It's Twilight that tells everyone that Fluttershy will be useful in dealing with the dragon, even though she was too scared to move up the mountain. Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are pretty good friends, though it's shown that Pinkie's antics can even wear on her. Applejack is by far the most patient with Fluttershy's fear and shyness, even willing to drag her scared butt all the way around a mountain. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are very close, despite being so opposite in personality. I believe this is because they were so close as fillies. Rainbow has stood up for Fluttershy in the past, and it is because of her first Sonic Rainboom that Fluttershy got her Cutie Mark. Rarity and Fluttershy are the best of friends, and have a very positive relationship. Fluttershy even continues modeling, even though she hates it because she thinks it makes Rarity happy.

... Oh. And she has a freakish knowledge of sewing.

So there we have Fluttershy's childhood.

Fluttershy goes through slight development throughout the series. I'll highlight those areas in particular.

As I said before, Fluttershy is extremely shy. So much so that when first meeting Twilight Sparkle, she is hardly able to speak, and ends up more... mumbling then finally squeaking out her name. 1st person sample: [What... what did this question mean? It wasn't like they'd really explained much when it came to these... forms. And in the rush of people passing, it was very difficult, if at all possible, to ask questions.]

E-excuse me...? [Nope.] P-pardon me, I just... have a... question...

[Well this was simply not working.]

[The next sentence wasn't really... a formation of words as much as it was a string of squeaks meant to get attention. How dare they ignore this sad little faaace?]

[Wait...]

[Was that...]

A little... Bunny? [Forget this paperwork, look at the little bunny!]

Oh, aren't you just the cutest thing! Ohhh, you must be scared being here all alone... I'm a little lonely too... You can surely stay with me! [A smile. Oh Fluttershy. Don't you know this will take all day if you don't fill out that paperwork?]

3rd person sample:
It'd been a squeak-fest since she arrived. At first, she was too scared to speak when they asked her questions. And why wouldn't she be? These were the strangest ponies she'd ever seen! And they were rather scary, to tell the truth. Finally, they seemed to break though to her, and she answered their questions quietly, if at all.

Filling out the forms was an entirely different disaster. Not only was it difficult to write, but ... heck if she knew what half of this stuff meant. Currently, she holds the record for taking longest to fill out this paperwork. That and being quiet the longest.

Finally, once submitted, she received the debriefing of what happened to her world. And more squeaks sounded. This time with sadness. All of her friends, all of those animals, Princess Celestia, even the entirety of Equestria was gone!

And just after such a wonderful day, just after the Grand Galloping Gala... Oh would she be relieved to see some of her friends here later.

Questions?: Nope!
Did you put your characters name and fandom in the subject: Yes'm!
